Family self-catering holiday accommodation
by the seaside in the beautiful Island of Guernsey comprising granite cottages
in a private courtyard opposite sandy, award winning beaches. Each cottage has
two twin-bedded rooms on the first floor and on the ground floor one double-bedded
room with it's own TV. and ensuite w.c. Compact lounge/dining area with TV, video
recorder, fully equipped pine kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, bathroom/w.c.,
with thermostatic bath/shower, central heating, fresh linen and electricity included.
Laundry room with washing machines, iron, tumble dryers and telephone. Barbecue,
hardwood table and chairs on patio. Private parking. Shops at Cobo Village, restaurants
etc, ten minutes walk. Bus terminus one minutes walk.
INTRODUCTION
Nick and Irene MacPhail together with
their two sons, Rowan and Tobar, introduce you to their Guernsey self
catering seaside cottages at Mas des Sable. We would be honoured for
you to entrust us with your holiday accommodation needs and feel sure
that your holiday here would be a happy one.
Guernsey self catering holiday
accommodation at Mas des Sables has been designed and equipped with the
features that we would have liked to find in the self catering homes
that we have stayed at in the past.
Your accommodation would be in a granite cottage,
which benefits from modern insulation and double glazing to keep cool in summer.
Central heating with individual room temperature control ensures comfort for early
and late visitors. The pine kitchen is equipped with a fan oven with vented hood
to give modern convenience (though with so many restaurants of every standard
on the island you won't need to be chained to your kitchen ). In addition to the
fridge a microwave cooker has been included for speed and ease. As we know that
nobody wants to do the washing up on holiday a dishwasher has been provided so
you may enjoy doing more leisurely things.

The compact lounge/dining area is provided with a television and video recorder
and a second television is provided in the master bedroom to save family arguments
when the football clashes with Eastenders.
The bathroom is equipped with a thermostatically controlled bath filler and shower
mixer valve to ensure the safety of younger family members. There are two twin-bedded
bedrooms on the first floor and on the ground floor a bedroom that has it's own
en suite w c and washbasin. Built in wardrobes and bedside table with table lamps
are to be found in all three bedrooms. A smoke and heat sensing alarm system,
automatic emergency lighting to the stairs and fully opening windows in each bedroom
ensure our guests safety.
Hardwood tables and chairs on a patio outside your holiday home will enable you
to enjoy an evening glass of wine or an 'al fresco' breakfast. The private courtyard
provides a peaceful haven from the outside world and security of off street parking.
There is a utility room for the use of both holiday homes which has an automatic
washing machine, iron and ironing board and for inclement weather drying, tumble
dryers. A sink with hot and cold water enabling beach wear to be rinsed upon returning
home. Drying lines are provided in the rear garden. All fresh linen and towels
are provided but guests are required to bring their own beach towels.
Mas des Sables is situated between two of the island's best (award winning) beaches
- shown at top of the page. Saline beach (also known as Grandes Rocques beach)
and Port Soif Bay. Saline beach is sandy at most stages of the tide and swimming
can be enjoyed at both high and low tides. Port Soif Bay is a beautiful sandy
cove at high and low tides, lowering to reveal a myriad of rock pools with stones
to be turned revealing darting shrimps, crabs, baby fish, starfish, in fact all
the creatures children delight in discovering.
Grandes Rocques is blessed with some of the prettiest sunsets on offer and few
places can offer a lovelier evening stroll. The more energetic will appreciate
the flat coast roads and cycle hire is readily available for those not wishing
to bring their own. We are on a beautiful coastal Nature Trail and close to other
countryside Nature Trails and coastal footpaths which are ideal for those who
enjoy walking and cycling.
Cobo village is about ten minutes walk away and offers a supermarket, post office,
bank, chemist, newsagent/general store and a butchers shop. Within about five
minutes walk bar meals are available and there is a Chinese restaurant with a
take-away facility. The west coast bus terminus is one minute away. For the sake
of other guests who follow we do not allow pets and we ask smokers to only smoke
outside on the patio where ashtrays are provided.

Accommodation is ready for visitors by 2.00 pm and we ask you to be
clear by 10.00 am on departure date. Bookings are from Saturday
to Saturday or Wednesday to Wednesday.

SHORT LETS:
Only available between 20th September and 30th April (excluding Christmas and New Years). Prices are pro rata per day but there is a minimum charge of £275 and minimum of 4 days. On request we can arrange your travel by air or sea from the UK on an inclusive basis. Hire cars can be arranged at competitive rates. Please write or telephone for quotations.
CONDITIONS OF BOOKING. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of accommodation
cost will secure your booking. The balance is due at least eight weeks prior to
your arrival, in default of which the reservation may be cancelled. The signed
reservation form denotes a contract and you are advised to insure against possibility
of cancellation as well as for medical insurance. We also strongly advise you
to take out insurance as no responsibility can be accepted for injury or loss
of personal effects while on the premises.
